The Thinking Behind the Work

Designing Health at the Intersection of Biology, Systems, and Human Experience
For more than 16 years, I’ve worked at the intersection of complex health conditions, clinical research, and system design - building multi-institution networks, designing governance-aligned infrastructure, and translating emerging science into scalable implementation models.

That work has always been deeply personal.

Through my own family’s experiences including losing my second child, Conor, to Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia (PCD) and supporting my other children through rare disease and mental health challenges, I’ve lived what it means to navigate systems that weren't built for less common or high-complexity health conditions.

Advocacy. Curiosity. Pattern Recognition. Relentless follow-through. Those weren't professional skills at first. They were survival skills.

They became the foundation of how I think about health.

From Fragmentation to Architecture
After Conor’s passing, I left my corporate career in supply chain technology to focus on advancing rare disease research and care.

I helped launch and build the North American PCD Foundation Clinical and Research Centers Network and its data ecosystem, aligning governance, research, and coordination across 50+ institutions.

In rare disease, evidence is incomplete by definition. Connections between variables are often unclear. Progress requires identifying the right people, asking different questions, identifying missing links, and generating new insights across fragmented environments.

That kind of insight does not emerge from research alone. It requires listening, deeply and systematically, to individuals and families living with those conditions and their care teams.

We weren't just connecting systems. We were building the connective tissue.

Over time, I began to see shared biological and structural patterns across rare disease, chronic illness, and mental health and the opportunity to design more integrated ways forward.

How I Think Today
Health functions as an ecosystem, shaped by the interaction of biology, environment, relationships, agency, and design.

Even when a diagnosis is fixed, the trajectory is not. There are often meaningful opportunities to strengthen capacity, reduce friction, and help people move forward, regardless of prognosis.

That belief informs both my strategic and applied work.

Meaningful progress requires disciplined design and thoughtful inquiry, as well as the willingness to measure, adapt, and sometimes rethink the model itself.

Some of my work happens alongside leaders shaping strategy. Some happens closer to individuals navigating complexity.

Both matter.
As a former collegiate and professional athlete, I learned early that performance is about alignment: mindset, training, nutrition, recovery, environment, and feedback loops working together.

Health is no different.

When biological insight, structural design, and human agency align, people move forward, even in the absence of few treatments and no cures. And when people move forward, systems evolve with them.
My mission is to design practical, human-centered solutions that strengthen both the ecosystem and the individuals within it.

The outcomes we want are built the same way high-performance athletes train: early, disciplined, and focused on fundamentals.
