I'm not a clinician - I can't treat it. I'm not a scientist - I can't find the cure. This - It's what I CAN do."
Carey Kauffman founded WellSelf 360 to channel her passion and life's mission to empower healthier lives, high performing teams and better outcomes in rare and chronic disease care. Like many of you, her passion came from somewhere. Carey lost her son to complications from a rare lung disease called primary ciliary dyskinesia (PCD).
Like the other 6,999 rare diseases (affecting 1:10 Americans), the fact that there are few treatments (if any) and no cures made it crystal clear to her how critical it was to help her son get the most out of what he had. While Conor lost his battle, his inspiration lives on. By combining her extensive background growing early stage technology companies and as a high performance athlete with expertise in positive psychology, cognitive behavioral change, integrative nutrition and lifestyle and as an American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM)-endorsed Wellcoach®, WellSelf 360 is purpose-driven to help 'connect the dots' between clinical (healthcare provider driven) and non clinical (patient/caregiver driven) care starting with people and conversation - and leveraging process and technology when needed. WellSelf 360 is on a mission to help patients, caregivers and families live well despite diagnosis or prognosis by breaking down the silos across ‘disease states and risk factors’ with personalized strategies to get the most out of the physical, emotional, mental, environmental and spiritual influences that impact our "bigger picture" health.
